HGS recently held an event at the Berkshire Golf Club on 12th June 2025. The 2 courses, Blue and Red, were in beautiful condition and the weather was virtually sunny all day. We had 41 players, including guests, and everyone was very impressed by the bars and dining rooms, which had been seriously renovated over the winter to provide magnificent facilities. 

In the morning, we played on the Blue course for our major competition, the Gold Cup along with the Scratch Cup and Reid Trophy, which is for Growers only. Ian Richardson scored 34 points, which was good enough to win the Gold Cup and also the Reid Trophy. Simon Partridge won the Scratch Cup with a gross score of 83. The guests prize was won by Richard Hewitt with a score of 39 points.

In the afternoon, greensomes was the order of the day and was won by Andy Hall and his guest, Richard Hewitt with a superb 45 points.

Our next event is Paul Tuckwell's Presidents Day at Ashridge on 12th July
