The annual HGS Charity Day in aid of Greenfingers was held on Thursday 7th August at RAC Golf and Country Club at Woodcote Park. The weather for the day was superb and the course was in good condition, although the greens presented somewhat of a challenge as they had been ironed the day before. This made putting quite difficult for the majority of members and guests and resulted in quite a few low scores.  Congratulations go to the winners of the day - Duncan's Dragons -Duncan Turner, John Redden, with their guests Steve Moore and Russell Storey -with a combined score of 2 from 4 of 81 points. Results are shown in section below.

Greenfingers, our nominated charity, benefitted from the day with a total of nearly £10,000. This, together with an amount earlier in the year from NFU Mutual of £8,000, means that HGS has contributed nearly £18,000 this year. This will be of enormous benefit to Greenfingers as it will help them to develop additional gardens in children's hospices.
