The Gold Cup, Reid Trophy and Scratch Cup took place on 11 June, with the Gold Cup being our major trophy for the year. The golf course was in superb condition, however the weather was pretty appalling with reasonably heavy rain falling for the morning, when the competitions are played for. We had 55 golfers playing in the morning round on the Red Course with 32 members and 23 guests. The golfers battled on throughout the morning round with the main prize winner   being Ian Richardson, who claimed all 3 major trophies, including the Reid Trophy for Growers only, with his amazing score of 38 points and a medal score of 79.

By the time we had the extremely good Berkshire lunch, the rain had virtually stopped and 48 players played  Greensomes on the Blue Course with the winners being our Vice Captain, John Dornan and his guest, Mike Blakeborough.

Even though the weather was not in our favour, everybody thoroughly enjoyed the whole day at the Berkshire. Our next competition  is President's Day at Woodbridge on 14th July
