The Autumn meeting was held at Princes GC, nr Deal on 5th and 6th October. We had a total of 36 people playing with 24 members and 12 guests. The weather was superb and the course, bearing in mind the hot summer weather, was in very good condition. The staff at Princes looked after us very well and accommodation and food were extremely good.

On Monday, we played for the HGS Rose Bowl, which is a singles stableford competition, and our winner was Martyn Dewhurst with 38 points, just beating our Captain, Simon Partridge who also had 38 points but was beaten on the back 9 holes. The guest winner was Gary Wheatley with a very good 41 points.

On Tuesday, we played for the Frank Newnes Bowls, which is a 4 ball better ball stableford competition, and our winners were the Captain, Simon Partridge and his brother David, with the magnificent score of 50 points, with Sam Tingle and Tom  Payne with a creditable 45 points in second place. Our guest winners with 43 points were Charles Wylie and Ewen Crosbie.

This is our final competition for the year with only the annual fixture against the NFU at Hadley Wood to come on 15th October, where we will be trying to regain the trophy from them.
