The Annual match between HGS and NFU took place at Whittington Heath GC on Wednesday 22nd October 2025. The match was played in fine weather with a little bit of breeze. HGS were looking to extend their recent form in this match by beating NFU for the 3rd time in a row. Unfortunately, NFU called upon a few of their local members and, whilst the outcome was close, NFU managed to defeat HGS by 4 games to 3. Whittington Heath provided a golf course which has been subject to HS2 routing and which had 5 new holes and a new clubhouse for the delight of both teams. HGS Captain, George Atterbury is shown in picture attached presenting the Philip Shaw Memorial trophy to Bill Whatley, NFU Captain after the meal enjoyed by all players. Results of each match are shown below.

HGS will be striving to reclaim the trophy under Simon Partridge, our Captain for 2026, at next years match.
