The Annual match between HGS and NFU took place on 15th October 2026 at Hadley Wood GC.  Both teams were well represented and teams of 16 players took part in the Annual match play event of 4 ball better ball. The match was very well fought with NFU winning the first 2 matches but then HGS central part of the team won the next 5 matches with the final match being a victory for NFU. The match finished with HGS winners by 5 games to 3 and so took the Philip Shaw Memorial trophy back from NFU. Results of the match are shown below. Pictured to the left is Shaun Taylor, NFU, presenting the trophy to John Dornan, Vice Captain of HGS.

It has been proposed by NFU that next year's match will be held at LIndrick GC, near Worksop, in October
